Lenard's end of the year Art Festival and Awards...

Tonight, we went to Lenard's end of the year art exhibition. We somehow missed knowing about this until just today, and I am SOOOOOOO glad we found out about it. All of Lenard's artwork from the semester was displayed, and awards were given out too. HE WON 2 FIRST PLACE RIBBONS!!!! His stuff was REALLY cool!! His teacher keeps all the stuff from the semester for this show, so we had not see ANY of his art this semester until tonight.

This was Lenard's altered book of his favorite things....First place ribbon!!

This is an altered mishmosh picture of Sadie. Sadie was a little disturbed at first when she found out this was a picture of her. We quickly explained that it is supposed to look this way...that is not what Lenard thinks you look like, LOL! She even agreed to take her pic by it. This is his cube. It has one letter of his name on each side of the cube.

This he called "Spiders Geode"

I forget what technique this is (and he is sleeping now), but the title of it is "Flow of Heat"

And this....this is Lenards MOST favorite piece. It is his wolf mask. He had to write a two page story to go with the mask as well....email me if you'd like to read a copy of the story, and I'll send it to you. This is the other piece that won a blue ribbon.

Both of the blue ribbon winning pieces will stay on display at this art center until the fall, and then they will be entered into the state fair. Lenard is a bit heartbroken about not bringing his mask home, but how COOL to be entering it into the fair!!??

I am so proud of Lenard and how well he did this year. Between all the blue ribbons and a another situation that happened there that had NOTHING to do with art...I left this even in tears.....happy, happy tears.
